CHRIST HAS BRIDGED THE GULF

God Is Holy

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place..." - Isaiah 57:15

No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. - 1 Samuel 2:2

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come! - Revelation 4:8

Because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:16

Man Is Sinful

For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin. - Ecclesiastes 7:20

As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;" - Romans 3:10

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. - Isaiah 53:6

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, - Romans 3:23

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. - 1 John 1:8

Sin Separates Man From God

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. - Isaiah 59:2

For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. - Psalm 5:4

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, - Romans 1:18a

For the wages of sin is death, - Romans 6:23a

These Cannot Bridge The Gulf

Sincerity: For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. - Romans 10:2

Reform: Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots?
Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil. - Jeremiah 13:23

Good Works: But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; - Isaiah 64:6a

Law Keeping: Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. - Romans 3:20

Christ Has Bridged The Gulf

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, - 1 Peter 3:18

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:16

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Corinthians 5:21

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

What must I do to be saved?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
as Your Sin-Bearer and Savior

But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, - Romans 4:5

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. - John 3:36

Assurance of Salvation

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. - John 5:24

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life... - 1 John 5:13a

What is “the Gospel”?

Gospel = “Good News”

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

The resurrection of Jesus Christ means:

1. Jesus Christ had no sin of His own
2. Our sin debt was paid forever to the satisfaction of God the Father.
3. Our Savior lives!
